Lockdown Messages

To all of the staff at PGS

In what has been probably the weirdest of weeks for us all, going from a calm start to a rushed middle and onto an odd Friday afternoon not knowing when we will see you again, I just wanted to thank you all for your incredibly hard work this week in keeping your doors open for those students who were able to come, and for those parents who were also still working.

You have been utterly amazing and it hasn't gone unnoticed by any means; I for one am very appreciative of all you have done.

I hope over the coming weeks and months you and your families stay safe and well, and that we'll all be opening our doors again fully sooner rather than later.

Keep going, you're all wonderful people with the kindest of hearts!

See you on the other side!

Jenni, Fitch & Orly x

 Good Morning Ms. Carter,

Thank you ever so much for your email it has really boosted both of our morals and I am extremely proud of Kayden and what he is achieving during these crazy times.

I would also like to take the opportunity to thank yourself and all the teaches at Peter Gladwin, as you have all been amazing in the support you have provided and the dedication you have for our children.

Stay safe and hopefully we will see you all soon.

Many Thanks,

Dear Mrs Harrison,

I wanted to write a quick email to say how much I appreciate all the hard work that’s going into the remote learning for the students from you and all your staff. I can only imagine just how challenging it’s been to manage alongside the key worker provision too.

Freddie seems to have engaged really well with Google Classroom and is very much enjoying the class book being read. Do pass on my thanks to Ms Carter for all she’s doing to keep Year 5 learning so well, I’m really grateful.

The disregard which the government has shown for the teaching profession, particularly in the last few weeks, and the total lack of thought for the well-being of school leaders makes what you’re all managing to do even more impressive too - thank you

No need at all to reply, you have enough to do, I just wanted to make sure you knew how much all you do is appreciated and valued.

Many thanks,

Kate Claydon.

Hello Karen

I wanted to say a massive thank-you to you and PGS team for supporting us through the lockdown. As R went back to school today we have realised how much all the home learning, messages, emails, information packs have meant to us trying to cope with the sudden change to our life. It is a testament to you and PGS team how so much thought and care has gone into supporting us at home and also getting the school ready to open again .
Flick’s encouraging words to R has meant she has really tried her very best to complete tasks and challenges at home some days better than others but R has shown perseverance. This has made her really proud of her efforts.
Also thank-you to Mr Phillips for making today so welcoming & fun. R said she would go back everyday now!

Best wishes

Just wanted to drop you a little message to say well done for keeping it all going at what must be a tricky time. Between the uncertainty of the kids coming back, the teaching of key worker kids and keeping the whole home schooling thing happening- I cant imagine what a challenge it must all be.

We've sent a couple of mails to Molly's teacher and will do the same for Ms Cole this week. The home schooling has been just right on the website- plenty to do, but not so much that it's overwhelming. Please thank your staff from us.

Anyway- just wanted to say you're doing a great job and thank you for what you do. We'll give you a big clap tonight, so keep an ear out

Oh Karen,

Thank you so much for your lovely message it did make me cry! Peter Gladwin is such a brilliant school and you are the cherry on the top you really do genuinely care about all of the pupils!

We will look after ourselves and you make sure you do too. Try to enjoy half term and stay safe!

We will share other work as and when

Lots of love xxx

Lisa Chrystie

During lockdown, due to the Corona virus, the children and families of Peter Gladwin school found many ways to stay engaged with their learning, learn new skills, keep themselves active and, above all, remain safe, happy and well.

Below are a number of galleries to give you a taste of the incredible variety of activities that our children took part in.

A very special message to you all from the staff at Peter Gladwin.

'Africa & Wolf' Gallery

Years 3, 4 and 6 had been set an art activity for their home learning and we have had an incredible response from some very, very talented artists.

'Spreading Hope' Gallery

Look at our wonderful rainbows that have been proudly displayed in windows around Portslade and our 'Forest of Hope'

Easter ‘Together As One Trail’ Gallery

Portslade looked amazing over the Easter period with these fabulous wreaths and garlands decorating doorways and gardens. It was a fabulous community event as many other Portslade schools and families joined us in spreading hope and happiness.

Stay Healthy Gallery

Great cycling skills!

Amazing Learning Gallery

School may be closed at the moment, but that does not mean that the pupils of Peter Gladwin School stop learning. Just have a look at all the amazing things that they have been doing at home during the last weeks. Click on these pictures for some fabulous presentations.

Baking Gallery

Baking has proved to be a very popular pastime whilst you have been at home. Look at all these delicious treats that have been made.

Family Gallery

Only being allowed to spend time with people in your own home has meant that we have started to spend much more time together. It is wonderful to see you participating in activities together; it looks like a lot of fun is being had.

Art and Music Gallery

What a creative bunch the families of Peter Gladwin School are - we love seeing your creative talents! Please click on the piano to listen to a wonderful piano recital from one of our Year 3 children.
